Connect CUSD aims to help the community engage with the school district about important issues and projects.

Why is Cupertino Union School District engaging the community online?

CUSD wants to connect with all members and voices of our community. Connect CUSD allows everyone to engage on topics that are important to them, at a convenient time, from any device connected to the Internet.

Connect CUSD helps everyone:

  • Keep up to date and gain facts and insights on current issues,

  • See what other community members think about an issue or topic, and

  • Contribute, respond, and engage in a discussion at a time and place that suits you.


How do I participate

Submit your feedback via the online discussion forums, quick polls, forms, and surveys relevant to each project currently open for feedback.

To participate for the first time, simply:

  • Sign up for Connect CUSD by clicking on the "Register" button in the top right of any page

  • Choose a username and password

    • Note: Your comments will appear under your determined/entered username.

  • Complete a few questions

  • You will receive an email to validate your email address

  • Return to Connect CUSD and click the "Sign In" button


Why do I need to register to use the interactive features such as commenting?

While registration is not required to access Connect CUSD, it is necessary for many of the interactive engagement opportunities. We ask you to register on the website for a few reasons:

  • It helps ensure that a broader set of perspectives have an opportunity to be represented by attributing feedback and frequency of feedback to individuals.

  • It promotes accountability and encourages people to respond more thoughtfully.

  • It also means we can alert you to changes and updates on current and future projects.


Can I use this site anonymously?

Yes, you can use Connect CUSD anonymously. Your anonymity is protected when you register and post comments because your chosen username identifies you.


What happens to my feedback/comments?

All comments, ideas, and suggestions are collected and used by the relevant project teams to inform the development of strategies, programs, and activities or to gain insight into community views and opinions.

All feedback provided during the project will be considered; however, this does not mean that every suggestion will affect the project or be adopted as proposed.

Note: All comments you make through Connect CUSD will become a public record for anyone to read.


Is my privacy protected?

Yes. Your privacy is protected, and Cupertino Union School District will only use your email to contact you with updates and to invite you to participate in current and future projects.

Your email address will not be distributed to any third party or used for any other purpose. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

If you have a question regarding a specific project currently open for engagement, please contact the relevant project manager(s) listed on the project page - their contact details can be found in each project's "Who's listening" section. Send other questions to connect@cusdk8.org.


How are discussion forums moderated?

All public comments within discussion forums, guest books, and questions and answers are moderated 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for inappropriate language, comments that disrespect other participants, and off-topic comments.

Engagement HQ carries out all moderation and is independent of the Cupertino Union School District. The moderators do not edit or alter comments. They will only remove comments deemed significantly off-topic, offensive, or malicious, and the person who posted the comment is advised by email. See our Moderation Policy for more details.
